And the Winner Is… Australia’s Most Inspiring Dog of the Year!
Elle, a Border Collie from the Gold Coast, QLD, was the winner of the 2025 Australian Dog of the Year. Deaf Dogs Rescue Australia (Nominated Charity Recipient)
Elle, a deaf rescue dog, has touched countless lives with her resilience, empathy, and unbreakable spirit. She’s mastered agility competitions through sign language and offers comfort and calm as a therapy dog to anxious children in schools. Elle doesn’t just overcome obstacles—she turns them into stepping stones, inspiring everyone she meets with her courage and heart.
“Elle’s journey is a powerful reminder of the strength found in perseverance and the deep connection between humans and animals,” says Kerry. “Her ability to rise above her challenges and offer such meaningful support is exactly why we honour dogs through these awards. Elle embodies love, resilience, and the extraordinary impact dogs have on our lives.”
Our dogs bring so much joy, love, and inspiration to our lives—and that’s why Puppy Tales is proud to launch the search for the 2026 Australian Dog of the Year for the sixth year running!
